Our experience with Monster Trees was excellent from the beginning, when arborist, David B., came out to discuss and assess work needed. He took time to discuss our individual trees and provide sound reasoning for his recommendations (to cut, not cut, selectively prune, etc.). He also discussed why some trees we were considering for our yard may not thrive due to soil or sun concerns. We felt better educated about all decisions reached and future considerations.
The cutting and pruning team, lead by Brad, arrived on time for the work and were accompanied by the arborist, who did a walk through with the team lead to make sure he understood what was to be done. We had a lot of work with some significant challenges: mistletoe in the top of a 35 ft cedar elm; a tree leaning over our tile roofed home, large limbs hanging over new landscaping and/or rod iron fencing; as well as some challenging terrain to work around.
End result: All mistletoe was removed; tree is now so beautiful and the removal was a sight to behold! The leaning tree and limbs over new landscaping was removed without any damage from falling trees or limbs. My husband and I were amazed at the talent of this team and had a very enjoyable time watching their expertise in action! Excellent clean up; yard was cleared of all debris.

They removed downward growth of our decades old, Ash tree. They installed 2 large cables in an “X” pattern to support the two stems closest to home with rear stems. Among other services they removed a tree near the Ash, and removed limbs over the garage. They worked solidly as a TEAM and were so courteous and pleasant that we were JUSTLY impressed. The backyard, driveway and alley were all swept and cleaned....from “head to toe.” We feel so lucky to have heard of this Company and to know they are as good as their word. Work was done quickly, as quietly as we could've hoped for, and it looks great. We had a dying crape myrtle removed and you can't even tell there was a tree there. The team did a great job leveling the ground, redistributing our mulch and arranging our brick work. My wife has commented on it several times and insisted I find a way to pass along her compliments.

We are old and picky but that didn’t bother Chris or his team. They know trees and how to properly prune all types. When the crew arrived early, it reminded me of a habit ingrained into me in the Army based on this phrase, “If you aren’t 15 min early, you’re late.” These guys were on time and I appreciate that. Every member of the 4 man crew, lead by Christopher appeared well-rested and ready to work. The previous homeowners planted a pine tree in a space only large enough for a crepe myrtle. I kept putting off removing the tree until it was taller than my two story home. It was touching my roof as well as my neighbors roof. Monster was one of three companies to whom I reached out. They were the first to call back and were incredibly friendly. I set up all three companies to come give an estimate. One of the companies never showed up and one of them kept rescheduling my appointment. Monster called to let me know they were on the way and showed up as originally scheduled. They provided a very fair estimate. They quoted what one tree service quoted when the tree was a solid 10 feet shorter. They also provided free suggestions on ways to improve my other trees' health. They never tried to push other services and were true to what the quoted. My tree was removed without damaging my house, my neighbor's house or the fence we share that was right next to the tree. The only trace of the tree when they left was a little sad pine cone that had rolled down the road. They were quick, thorough, careful and courteous. I would definitely use them again.

Upon reading a few reviews, we decided to go with Monster Tree Service. In less than 2 hours these guys not only trimmed two very old and tall red oaks (One is at least 63, and it is believed that the other is close to 100 years old, or so we were told by another tree company 10 years ago)… but they also removed the dead limbs, raked the yard, used a blower to clear the sidewalks and street…and thanked me for choosing them. Top-notch service, friendly and efficient staff.

At the end of the day, I just wanted someone who I believe could do a decent work and I felt Shane and his crew were able to do so. I also believe his pricing was fair enough. They showed up on time in freezing drizzle and had the tree down quickly. After removing the tree, we discovered that it was so diseased that it was hollow and was one storm away from falling on my house. They also checked my other trees to make sure they were okay and trimmed them. Not only did they do a great job cutting down the tree, but they did a great job cleaning up. It is as if the tree never existed. They exceeded my expectations for a price much lower than I was quoted elsewhere.

This day and age it is hard to find great customer service but I must commend Monster Tree for theirs! Tropical Storm Bill blew in and took my beautiful tree down in half. I called, spoke with a “real” person, gave her my information and she said she would call me back with estimate of time when they could take a look at it. Realizing that they were going to be busy with the storms’ wake; I didn’t expect to hear from her the same day but about a half-hour later she called me back told me Shane could be there in a couple of hours to meet me and take a look. Shane came, assessed, gave me a quote and I said “go”. He said he would have his crew take care of it as soon as possible. Few hours later after running errands, I came home to the tree gone and completely cleaned up. This is all in one day after a storm. I was very impressed. The communication via email and phone was perfect. Thanks and I will be using them in the future to take and care for all of my trees.
